The Education of Girls: A Light for Generations
At CAREC, we believe that educating girls is not optional — it is essential. It is one of the most powerful and transformative actions a community can take to ensure health, peace, and prosperity for future generations. When a girl receives an education, she gains more than academic knowledge — she develops inner strength, confidence, wisdom, and the ability to make informed decisions that shape her life and uplift those around her.
As one sacred teaching states:
“If the mother is educated, she will raise children with knowledge and values. This is why the education of women is a great service to humanity.”
In many parts of the world, girls still face barriers to education — early marriage, poverty, gender bias, or lack of safe learning environments. CAREC works to break down these barriers by creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces where girls can:
-
Explore their talents without fear,
-
Ask questions and receive answers with respect,
-
Dream boldly and begin to prepare for a life of meaning and service.
We know that:
-
An educated girl is less likely to marry too young and more likely to raise healthy, educated children.
-
An educated girl is more likely to contribute to the economy, support her family, and act as a leader in her community.
-
Girls who are educated are more likely to become advocates for peace, equality, and justice.
We are reminded in divine guidance:
“Women and men are equal in the sight of their Creator. Therefore, let both be equally trained and educated, for both are wings of the same bird — and the bird cannot fly with one wing.”
This is why CAREC’s Vacation Education Training program gives special attention to ensuring girls participate fully — in literacy, health awareness, leadership development, and values education. We also work closely with families and communities to change mindsets and promote equal dignity and opportunities for girls and boys.
We believe that girls are not a problem to solve — they are the solution. They carry within them the capacity to change the future if only given the tools, the support, and the chance.
“The girl of today is the mother of tomorrow. She must be educated with the utmost care and love.”
In every girl, we see a leader, a healer, a creator, a teacher.
In every girl, we see the light of possibility.
We believe in her mind.
We believe in her dignity.
We believe in her future — and in our duty to protect and uplift it.
